Madhu Kishwar:- आज का विषय आप देख ही रहे हैं, रामायण और महाभारत में कलियुग की परिकल्पना | इस विषय पर बात करने के लिए हमारे साथ हैं नीलेश ओक जी | आपका स्वागत हैं नीलेश जी |
यह एक सवाल है जो मुझे वर्षोंसे, decades से, puzzle किये हुए हैं | मैं ने सोचा कि इस विषय पे कम से कम जो मुझसे ज्यादा ज्ञानी हैं उनसे बात की जाए | रामायण मेंं, महाभारत मेंं, हमारे पुराणों मेंं, मनुस्मृति मेंं कलियुग की ऐसी बारीकी से विवरण किया गया हैं, जैसे कि हजारों साल आगे भविष्य को अपनी आँखों के सामने घटित होता दिख रहा हैं |
अब यह तो समझ आता है नीलेश जी कि कोई अपने पुरातन काल के बारे में narrative बनाले, archaeology के आधार पे, या literary sources के आधार पे, या mythology कही चलती है कई समाजो में, उसके आधार पे | वह तो समझ में आता है | पुरातन काल के बारे में और उसको तो कोई check भी नहीं कर सकता कि ऐसा रहा होगा 5000 साल पहले या 10000 साल पहले | तो you can get away with it.
परन्तु जो सटीक और बारीकी से विवरण है कि कैसी-कैसी विकृतियाँ आयेगी कलियुग में, भ्रष्टाचार के क्या-क्या नए आयाम होंगे, समाज का कैसे पतन होगा, यह तो मेंरे समझ से बाहर हैं | And, this is not even like Sanjaya describing the ongoing Mahabharat war with accuracy though sitting at a distance. यह तो हजारों साल आगे की बात है | आप बताएँगे इसके पीछे क्या सोच रही होगी ? क्या दूरदर्शिता रही होगी, क्या तुकबंदी हैं ? पर तुकबंदी होती तो इतने सारे sources में उसी किस्म की बातें क्यूँ आई? हम शुरू रामायण और महाभारत से ही करेंगे | पर आप जानते हैं कि और बहुत से sources हैं जो कलियुग के बारे में बोलते हैं |
Nilesh Oak:- मैं भी बहुत कम ही जानता हूँँ इस विषय में, लेकिन जो कुछ मुझे पता है वह थोड़ा context में रखने का मैं प्रयत्न करूँगा | तो रामायण-महाभारत की तो हम बात करेंगे ही | Last 1000 साल की बात करें तो कलियुग क्या है ? क्या हम कलियुग में हैं ? और कलियुग का प्रारम्भ कब हुआ? और कलियुग का कब अंत हो जायेगा ? यह प्रश्न हमारे सबके मन में रहते हैं और हमारे जो पहले लोग होके गए, वे भी सोच चुके हैं | मैं पिछले 1000-2000 साल पहले की बात कर रहा हूँँ, उससे भी पीछे हम जाएंगे | Of course, रामायण-महाभारत के समय में तो जाएंगे ही | यह 1000-2000 सालों में जो चल रहा है, उसका हमारे पास बहुत अच्छा वर्णन हमें मिलता है |
मैं बहुत संक्षिप्त में बात करूँ तो यह discussion तो last 400 years में very intensely चल रहा है | और यह मैं Indian civilization within the Indian civilization की बात कर रहा हूँँ | जैसे कि महाभारत का Bhandarkar Oriental Research Institute ने एक जगह उसको लाया, Critical Edition का निर्माण किया | उसमें approach जो था, वह थोडा western way of looking at what is Critical Edition था | लेकिन उनके पहले Neelakantha Chaturdhara जी ने 17th century में again Critical Edition जैसा काम किया था | उन्होंने Composite Edition बनाने का प्रयत्न किया था | ऐसे प्रयत्न वाल्मीकि रामायण के बारे में भी हुए थे |
और आप और पीछे चले जाइये तो 17th century में भी Samartha Ramdas Swamy, जो शिवाजी के गुरु थे, उन्होंने वर्णन किया कि कितने साल पहले कलियुग शुरू हुआ | वे कहते हैं कि, मैं approximately number बता रहा हूँँ, 4700 साल पहले शुरू हुआ |
आप और पीछे चले जाइये, 1000 साल पीछे approximately, तो Madhwacharya हैं | उन्होंने ऐसी बात की हैं, या उनके ग्रन्थ में ऐसी बात लिखी है, या उनके शिष्यो ने लिखी हैं , वह इतना मुझे clear नहीं है, कि 4,300 years पहले कलियुग का प्रारम्भ हुआ | यह एक बहुत ही महत्वपूर्ण बात है | 4,300 या 4,700 साल पहले, यानी कि कुल मिला के पीछे चले जाइये तो 3000 BC का समय आ जाता हैं |
हमारे संस्कृति में सब लोगों के मन में इतना fix होके बैठा हैं कि आप कितनी भी साक्ष्य लेके आये, उन्ही ग्रन्थों से, जो 3,000 BC नहीं कहती हैं, तो भी लोग इतना उसमें जड़ होके बैठे हैं कि उससे बाहर निकलना नहीं चाहते | तो, यह एक संक्षिप्त में हो गया | और आप अभी फिर पीछे चले जाइये वराहमिहिर के समय, आर्यभट के समय, भास्कराचार्य के समय, यानी कि समझ लो 2,000 years approximately पहले की बात कर रहे हैं, तो उनमें भी वाद-विवाद चलते थे कि कलयुग का प्रारम्भ कब हुआ; कब अंत होगा |
अंत तो छोड़ ही दो | Because, अंत समझने के लिए हमें दो बातें लगेगी | एक तो प्रारम्भ कब हुआ, और कलियुग की लम्बाई कितनी होती हैं ? और, यह दोनों का very clear and crisp answer, हमारे पास अभी तक नहीं था | अभी हमारे पास answer है , ऐसा मुझे लगता है | मैं आपको request करूँगा कि आप कभी Jeevan Rao जी को बुलाने का भी सोचिये | He is 24 years old; I can call him a kid. But, उन्होंने बहुत अच्छा मंथन रामायण, महाभारत और पुराणों पर किया है | तो यह 2,000 साल की संक्षिप्त भूमिका रही | फिर हम महाभारत और रामायण की बात करते हैं |
हम यहाँ से प्रारम्भ करते हैं कि रामायण और महाभारत क्या कहता हैं ? उनका समय क्या था? तो यह जो काल का axis हुआ, today is 21st century, तो 0 यानी 2000 साल पहले, क्योंकि हम Gregorian calendar use कर रहे हैं | Unfortunate thing है , लेकिन हमें तो practicality के लिए use करना पड़ेगा | 2,000 साल पहले के बाद Gregorian calendar, जो Julian-Gregorian का mixture था, उसके पीछे हम जाते हैं तो (-) 5000 BC, (-) 10000 BC, 15000 BC| उसमें जो मैंने संशोधन करके महाभारत का समय निकाला है, वह 6th millennium BC की बात है | रामायण का जो समय है, वह 13th millennium BC की बात है |
Now, यह तो समय हुआ | अब यह भी ज़रूरी है कि हम समय की बात करें थोड़ी सी | लेकिन जो आपका महत्वपूर्ण विषय है, वह यह है कि कलियुग का वर्णन क्या है महाभारत में | और कलियुग की अलग-अलग परिकल्पना क्या हैं महाभारत में और रामायण में | एक बात मैं कहूंगा कि दोनों में they are very consistent. रामायण और महाभारत में युग की परिकल्पना consistent होती हैं | Now, Mahabharat में उसका बहुत विस्तृत वर्णन, जो आप वर्णन की बात कर रहे हैं, कलियुग की है | बहुत सारी बातें कैसे बदलेगी? Pessimistic वर्णन कह सकते है आप उसको | जो वर्णन कहा है वह ज्यादा महाभारत में आता है; रामायण में बहुत संक्षिप्त है |
लेकिन यह बात हम clear करें कि महाभारत में multiple times देखा जा सकता है कि महाभारत का जो समय है वह definitely द्वापर और कलियुग इनके intersection का समय है | Jeevan Rao has found more than 100 different references महाभारत में, महाभारत के दृष्टिकोण से, कि वह समय द्वापर का अंत हो रहा है और, कलियुग की शुरुआत हो रही है | और, रामायण में, रामायण का जो समय है यह त्रेता युग का समय है | यह दोनों बातें clear हैं |
Now, थोडासा मैं आपको confusion बताता हूँँ एक minute के लिए | महाभारत में इतने problems नहीं हैं , लेकिन रामायण में हमारे लोगों की जो आस्था हैं , श्रद्धा और प्रग्न्या हैं, तो आपस में जो काम करते हैं कभी-कभी उनकी आपस में fights भी हो जाती हैं | तो fight की यह बात है | युग की 30-40 अलग व्याखाए हैं ; उसमें से एक व्याख्या लेके लोग अपना खुद का confusion बना लेते हैं | I will say at least 1000 साल का लेकर confusion है | वह यह है कि जो ऊपर की जो definition दिख रहे हैं , Yuga Dogma करके मैं ने लिखा हैं , वह definition Astronomy definition हैं | वह जिसको हम cosmology कहते हैं | पुरे विश्व का निर्माण होना, विश्व की संकल्पना, वह समझने के लिए जैसे motion of the planets, जो हमारे गृह-तारों की स्तिथि, उनके जो periods उसके लिए जो बनाया गया mathematical formulations हैं , वह हमारे कई लोगों ने कब सोचा, कैसे सोचा, पता नहीं | लेकिन वह mistake जरूर हो गई हैं |
उन्होंने वह संकल्पना हमारे chronology के लिए लिया और इसलिए बहुत confusion होके बैठा है | इसलिए मैं उसको Yuga Dogma कहता हूँँ | तो, immediately लोग कहेंगे कि रामायण तो भाई एक million साल के पहले, दस लाख साल के पहले तो वह नहीं चलेगा | That is what I want to say on this slide.
Madhu Kishwar:- मेरा प्रश्न यह है , यहाँ मैं quote कर रही हूँँ Jaggi Sadhguru को | वह इसका solar system के साथ जो connect है इन युगों का, वह बोलते हैं : The solar system with the sun and the planets around it is moving in the galaxies; it takes 25,920 years for our solar system to complete one cycle around a larger star. From the effects upon the planet, we believe that this big star or big system that our system is going around is not located in the centre of the orbit, but somewhere around the side. Now, this is the point. Whenever our solar system comes closer to this big system, all the cultures living in our system rise to greater possibilities. Whenever our system moves away from it, the creatures living in our system come to the lowest level of possibilities, which is what we say is Kalyug.
And, when our solar system is closer to the super sun, वह जो larger system कह रहे हैं , Satyug will begin. The human mind will be then at its highest capabilities. तो और भी वह बहुत सी चीज़े बताते हैं सतयुग के बारे में | तो वह solar system का जो वह connect बता रहे हैं , आप भी शायद उसी दिशा में कुछ point कर रहे हैं ? Do you see any resonance or do you have something totally different to offer?
Nilesh Oak:- बहुत अच्छा किया आपने मधुजी कि जो सध्गुरुजी बोल रहे हैं उनका आपने quote किया | यह एक mixed spot है , यह confused spot है | अभी Sadhguru जी जो बात कर रहे हैं , यह मैं आपको वह four quadrants मैं दिखाता हूँँ, four types of Yuga, वह मैं आपको slide लाऊंगा कुछ देर में | यह जो Sadhguru जी बात कर रहे हैं as I understand and he may disagree with me and in which case I disagree with him is that ‘यह emotional, यह psychological state की बात कर रहे हैं | Now उसको वह physical reference भी दे रहे हैं , वह cosmological reference दे रहे हैं |
Now, वह Psychological बात तो हम कर सकते हैं which is correct. In fact, मैं यह कहूँँगा महाभारत में ही 5 to 6 अलग-अलग युग की व्याख्यायें हैं | तो Sadhguru जी की और एक व्याख्या add करने में हमें कोई problem नहीं हैं | Now, जो second aspect Sadhguru जी बात कर रहे हैं कि वह two super sun, वह binary star model की बात कर रहे हैं | वह Sadhguru जी ने directly he has lifted it from Swami Yukteshwar Giri | उन्होंने एक Holy Science करके एक book लिखा था ; यह last 100-150 years की बात हैं | वे परमहंस योगानद के गुरु संप्रदाय में आते हैं | उन्होंने propose किया था कि सूर्य एक single star system नहीं हैं , यह एक binary star system हैं | और उसका एक वर्णन किया |
तो अभी हो क्या रहा है, यह एक hotch-potch हो रहा है | एक 25,000 years का जो cycle है , आपने जो उसकी व्याख्यायें की | उसको precision of earth’s axis कहते है | वह तो scientifically अभी proved चीज़ है | Now, उसमें युक्तेश्वर गिरी का two star model है | वह एक other लाया गया | फिर सध्गुरु जी अपना एक philosophical या psychological definition add करते हैं | To me this is hotch-potch, in the sense, Sadhguru जी कुछ अच्छा point बताने का प्रयत्न कर रहे होंगे | लेकिन जो लोग literally लेंगे, they will be confused| मेरे पास एक quote भी हैं , Joseph Campbell का, वह मैं बताऊँगा |
तो अभी जो आपने कहा मधु जी 25,920 years वाली बात वह सालोंकी बात की आपने | That will come from the top right hand corner- theoretical corner| वहाँ से सध्गुरु जी ने युग की एक व्याख्यायें ले ली | बाद में जो दूसरी बात चल रही है, हमारा जो human evolution, psychological evolution, बुद्धि का evolution, मन का evolution, वह कैसा होगा? आप वह individual की बात कर रहे हैं |
Individual के लिए युग बदल सकता है , जैसे की आपके personal life में कोई दुखद घटना हो, तो बाहर कितना भी आनंद हो, आपको दुःख ही feel होता हैं | वैसे ही, बाहर कुछ समस्या हो और आपकी life में कुछ अच्छी चीज़े चल रही हो तो आपको अलग feel होता हैं | तो individual की आप बात कर रहे हैं, स्वधर्म जैसी बात, तो वह bottom left hand corner में है | Then, फिर आप जो सध्गुरु जी society की बात कर रहे हैं कि society को क्या होगा, तो top left hand corner है, वह philosophical. सध्गुरु जी ने अभी जो बात की उसमें chronology की बात ही नहीं की, which is completely fine.
So, अब जब अलग-अलग ढंग से हम तीनों different definitions हैं | जैसे की Quantum mechanics को आप जब Einstein के relativity के साथ लाने का प्रयत्न करेंगे, तो कुछ होता नहीं | That is why Einstein was frustrated till his death. That he could not combine the two things. लेकिन अगर हम कोई चीज़ combine करने का प्रयत्न भी करें तो उसमें delusion हो सकता हैं | आगे चलते हैं next slide पे | Now, इसलिए मैं ने कहा मधु जी की महाभारत में ही 5 different definitions हैं | हम उसकी चर्चा करेंगे |
Madhu Kishwar:- जाते-जाते यह मुझे जरुर बता देना कि कलियुग अंत कब होने वाला हैं | मेरे जीवन काल में यह अंत होगा या नहीं, या और कितने जन्म मुझे लेने पड़ेंगे | मैं तो बहुत बेसब्री से राह देख रही हूँँ उस दिन का|
Nilesh Oak:- I will say Madhu Kishwar जी ‘I have a good news and a bad news’ | वह standard पूछते है न, पहले कौन सी सुन्नी है ? वह आप बता दीजिये तो मैं पहले आपको good news या bad news बता दूँ ?
Madhu Kishwar:- Good news.
Nilesh Oak:- Good news यह है कि आप individually स्वधर्म choose कर सकते हैं | आप और जो हमारे सुनने वाले हैं, वे जब यह निश्चय करें कि हमारे choice का युग है, लेकिन कलयुगमें नहीं जाना हैं तो वे कर सकते हैं | Because अभी जो यह statement दिख रहा है आपको, that is the secret of it. और यह आता हैं महाभारत से | So, that is the good news.
And, the bad news is, किसी को अगर chronologically चाहिए, कि exactly कलियुग का कब अंत होने वाला हैं ? Actually, यह question मुझे twitter में पूछा जाता हैं | Twitter में पूछा जाता हैं और facebook में पूछा जाता हैं | और मैं humorously उसका answer देता हूँँ | For example, I give my answer like this depending on my mood that day. So, I will say 22nd February 20422. तो आदमी खुश हो गया, तो वह बोलता हैं ऐसा कैसे हो गया? तो मैं वापस बोलता हूँँ कि आपको मेरे से ज्यादा information हैं तो आप बता दीजिये | मेरा तो यह best estimation हैं | तो यह bad news इसलिए हैं कि exact हम बता नहीं सकते | क्योंकि मैं ने जैसा कहा कि हमें यह पता होना चाहिए कि कलियुग का प्रारम्भ कब हुआ और कलियुग का length कितना होता हैं |
Madhu Kishwar:- हमें यह बताया गया अपने माँ-पिता से या जो भी पढ़ा लिखा कि कलियुग में केवल आप एक ही धर्म अपना सकते हैं , वह हैं कि स्वयं को गंदगी से, पाप से, और बुरे कर्मों से बचाओ | वह अगर आप कीचड़ में कमल की तरह जी सकते हैं तो उतना ही आप निभा पाएंगे, उससे ज्यादा उम्मीद करना गलत है | इस प्रयास में तो band बज गया इस जीवन काल में | तो मैं वह भी जीवन जीना चाहती हूँँ कि इस पाप का सारा दलदलसे मुक्त जीवन भी कभी मिलेगी, जब सहज अच्छा जीवन, सहज ईमानदारी से जी पाएंगे |
और ना कि जितना तपस करना पड़ता हैं , और कितनी यातनायें झेलनी पड़ती हैं , सिर्फ अगर आप सत्य पे टिके रहना चाहते हैं या अन्याय नहीं झेल सकते किसी के प्रति | तो, मैं सोचती हूँँ कि इसलिए, मैं 1000 साल बाद भी, मैं पैदा जरुर होना चाहती हूँँ, इसलिए मैं ऊपर वाले से प्रार्थना करती हूँँ, इन्तेजाम करना चाहती हूँँ कि इस जनम में, इस कलियुग में इतनी यातनायें दी, अब we deserve it. क्योंकि कम से कम खुद को बचाने का सही प्रयास किया, अब कितने सफल हो पाए, नहीं हो पाए, वह ऊपर इश्वर ही जानते हैं .
Nilesh Oak:- आप जरुर interrupt कीजिये मधु जी | और अभी जितना आपने वक्तव्य किया मधु जी | I would say मैं ने count करने का प्रयत्न किया, at least very interesting 5-6 अलग-अलग points आपने कहे |
एक point ऐसा रहा कि बोलते-बोलते आपने एक कमल का दृष्टांत दिया | Lotus जैसा दलदल में है | तो आप जो काम कर रहे हैं , मैं जो अपने limited ability में कर रहा हूँँ , तो वह स्वधर्म की जो बात हैं ; वह lotus जैसी ही हैं | Lotus का दृष्टांत हमारे धर्म में, हमारे ancient Indian narratives में क्यूँ आता हैं बार-बार ? बार-बार आता हैं , वह आज ही सिर्फ नहीं आ रहा हैं | वह लक्ष्मी जी भी lotus में हैं , ब्रम्हा जी भी lotus में हैं | Lets not forget that. हमें भी Lotus का दृष्टांत ले के ही प्रगति करनी हैं .
दूसरी, आपने बात की “बार-बार जन्म लेना पड़ेगा”| आप जो अच्छा कार्य कर रही हैं , उसका उद्देश्य क्या हैं ? उससे purify होना | लेकिन, let me bring that to जो हम कार्य करते हैं उसका काल के साथ, कलियुग के साथ या कोई भी युग के साथ क्या सम्बन्ध हैं ? मैं कुछ संक्षिप्त में कहता हूँँ, बहुत detail में न जाके | महाभारत में 5 to 6 different व्याख्यायें हैं , अलग-अलग समय की भी बात की हैं , 1000 years, 2000 years, 3000 years, ऐसे वे आते हैं | उसमें किस-किसने युग की व्याख्यायें की हैं महाभारत में? मार्कण्डेय मुनि ने युग की व्याख्या की हैं | हनुमान जी ने युग की व्याख्या की हैं, जब हनुमान जी और भीम का समय उसमें आता हैं | Then, संजय ने व्याख्या की हैं , व्यास जी ने व्याख्या की हैं , भीष्माचार्य ने व्याख्या की हैं | और बहुत सारी व्याख्यायें हैं |
Madhu Kishwar:- और भगवान् कृष्ण ने की हैं |
Nilesh Oak:- कृष्ण ने की हैं , of course| वैशम्पायन ने की हैं | You know, बहुत सारे लोगों ने समय की व्याख्यायें की हैं | हनुमान जी ने कहा हैं की बहुत थोड़े से समय में यह युग अंत होए वाला हैं | यह युग यानी द्वापर का युग अंत होने वाला हैं और कलियुग का प्रारम्भ होगा | लेकिन, वह कितना साल वगैरह, उन्होंने कोई बात नहीं की |
यह जो मैं आपको statement दिखा रहा हूँँ, ‘Raja Kaalasya Kaaranam’ (राजा कालस्य कारणम्), यह statement महाभारत में बार-बार आता है | और, यह युग के context में ही आता है | जब युधिष्ठिर भीष्माचार्य को प्रश्न पूछते हैं, हर एक युग में राजा का धर्म क्या होता हैं ? कैसा व्यवहार करना चाहिए? वह context में बहुत सारा जो लम्बा शान्ति पर्व में, अनुशाशन पर्व में ,जो discussion हैं उसमें बार-बार यह सम्बन्ध आता है |
भीष्माचार्य और लोगों की व्याख्यायें भी बता देते हैं , जैसे आपने सध्गुरु जी की व्याख्या बताई | लेकिन उसमें वे खुद क्या सोच रहे हैं , वह भी बता देते हैं | जैसे कृष्ण भगवान् भी वही करते हैं | पहले वे लोगों का पूर्वपक्ष करते हैं, और कहते हैं ‘Now सुनो मुझे क्या कहना हैं |’ Similarly, भीष्माचार्य कहते हैं , ‘Raja Kaalasya Kaaranam’|मैं आपको उसका उदाहरण देता हूँँ, जो महाभारत में ही आता हैं | उससे हमें समझ में आयेगा कि हम परशुराम, भीष्म, और कृष्ण इन लोगों की बात क्यों करते हैं |
परशुरामने जो क्षत्रिय उन्मत्त होके बैठे थे, उनको 21 times tame किया, यह महाभारत कहता है | सब क्षत्रिय नहीं, उन्मत्त क्षत्रिय ; because power corrupts, and absolute power can corrupt absolutely. Now, परशुराम का जो समय था, वह महाभारत में भी कहा है और हमारे पुराण, ग्रन्थ में भी कहा हैं, कि वह त्रेता-युग में ही थे | सतयुग में नहीं थे, त्रेता युग में ही थे | कभी-कभी उसको द्वापर में भी कहा जाता हैं |
लेकिन जब उन्होंने 21 times miscreants का नाश किया और अच्छे व्यवस्थापन का निर्माण किया, और महाभारत कहता है कि परशुराम जी ने त्रेता युग का निर्माण किया | त्रेता युग को लाया |
रामायण में आपको यह verse मिलता हैं, और गीता-पुराण में भी राम के बारे में जब discussion होता है, कि भगवान राम जब अयोध्या में लौट के आगए, रावण को मारने के बाद, और उन्होंने जिस तरह से अपना राज्य चलाया | इसीलिए तो हम रामराज्य बोलते हैं | वह ऐसा चलाया की उन्होंने त्रेता युग में सतयुग का निर्माण किया| इसलिए Raja Kaalasya Kaaranam.
भीष्म का वर्णन महाभारत में आता हैं | जब विचित्रवीर्य और चित्रगन्द छोटे लड़के थे और भीष्म उनके behalf पे राज्य चला रहे थे तो वे इतना सुन्दर तरीके से administration कर रहे थे | अभी तो हम द्वापर युग की बात कर रहे हैं , भीष्म जी ने त्रेता युग लाया |
और कृष्ण का थोड़ा अलग reference है | Reference ऐसा है कि महाभारत का जो last day था, 18th day of the war था, पुष्य नक्षत्र, उसी दिन कलियुग का प्रारम्भ हुआ | ऐसा महाभारत 100 times कहता है अलग-अलग ढंग से | और जो पुराण हैं, हरिवंश और बाकी पूरण वे भी वही कहते हैं | लेकिन आपने यह भी statement सुना होगा, कि ठीक है कलियुग जब आया वह आया लेकिन जब तक भगवान कृष्ण थे तब तक कलियुग का effect नहीं हुआ | ऐसे भी बहुत सारे सन्दर्भ हमें पुराण में मिलते हैं | तो इसका मतलब क्या? कलियुग तो प्रारम्भ हुआ on the last day of the Mahabharat war. लेकिन 36 years तक जब तक भगवन कृष्ण थे, तब तक उसके जो manifestations थे, जो आपने वर्णन पढ़े, जो बहुत depressive वर्णन पढ़े, उसका ज्यादा निर्माण, effect नहीं हुआ |
तो त्रेता युग का प्रारम्भ कर दिया भीष्म जी ने, the way he was ruling. So, इसलिए जो good news हैं , जो आपने पूछा, हमारे जीवन में और जो administrators हैं, और जो उनकी क्षमता से होगी उससे राष्ट्र के जीवन में, अपने society के जीवन में, अपने community के जीवन में, वे अपना behavior से अपना administration से वे सतयुग ला सकते हैं | वे सतयुग लाने का प्रयत्न कर सकते हैं | यह एक आदमी के हाथ में नहीं हैं |
Madhu Kishwar:- अभी आपने कहा कि राजा के कारण बनता है युग ; तो जो vote bank politics के चलते सतयुग तो नहीं आ सकती | तो कोई और ही तरीका ढूँढना पड़ेगा | हमें ऐसा राजा प्राप्त हो कि electoral democracy, Westminster style जो है, मुझे नहीं लगता इस माध्यम से कभी भी आप सतयुग के उपयुक्त राजा चुन पायेंगे | अगर हो भी गया, तो उनका शास्त्री जी जैसा हाल होगा | देखिये ना क्या हुआ शास्त्री जी के साथ |
Nilesh Oak:- मैं agree करता हूँँ आपके साथ | और ऐसा था, आप रामराज्य की समय की बात कर रहे थे | और सिर्फ रामराज्य में राम के राज्य शुरू होने की बात नहीं कर रहा हूँँ | Even जब दशरथ राजा थे, दशरथ भी बड़े महान राजा थे | जब राम को वनवास भेज रहे थे तो कितना प्रगत था देखो | अभी आपने मानुषी का इतना लंबा काम किया हैं | You know the leftist side, the woke generation, the women studies, उसमें कोई controversy नहीं चलती |
जब दशरथ राजा राम को बनवास भेजते हैं, तो वशिष्ट ऋषि बड़े casually suggest करते हैं कि ठीक हैं राम को जाने दो, तो फिर सीता को राज पे बैठा दो | और किसी ने objection नहीं किया इस suggestion का | पर सीता जी को राम के साथ जाना था, इसलिए वे राज सिंहासन पे नहीं बैठी | But, वशिष्ट ऋषि ने suggest किया |
Now, America में, आपने democracy की बात की | America takes a lot of pride कि हमने democracy की शुरुआत किया, वह तो controversial हैं | लेकिन वह अभी तक महिला President नहीं ला सके| थोड़ा backdoor से अभी try कर रहे हैं वे, but directly तो ला नहीं सके अभी तक |
Madhu Kishwar:- अरे Hillary Clinton जैसे ना ही आए तो अच्छा हैं | ऐसी महिलाए, I tell you जरुरी नहीं हैं | अगर महिला होना ही पर्याप्त हैं, फिर तो वही हाल होगा जो Bengal का हो रहा हैं | कई राज्य हैं हमारे |
Nilesh Oak:- आपने यह subject निकाला, मैं यह बोल दूँ कि Hillary Clinton को मैं ने vote नहीं दिया | It was a very tough choice for me. एक side में Hillary Clinton हैं , और एक side में Trump. I gave it to Trump. And, I am not sorry at all. और, आपके साथ में मैं agree कर रहा हूँँ, वह बात नहीं |
ऐसा नहीं हैं कि सिर्फ महिला आनी चाहिए, और किसी भी महिला को पकड़ के लाओ | No, she would have been a disaster for India anyways and for America in my humble opinion. But, anyways यह आज का subject नहीं है | तो आपने कहा कि voting bank से नहीं होगा, वह छोटे-छोटे reforms हमें करने चाहिए कि सबका election एक समय में हो, वह भी जरुरी हैं | नहीं तो यह चुन के आए हुए लोग भी all the time election में ही busy रहते हैं | कही न कही तो election चलता ही हैं , even Prime minister Modi has said this multiple times. So, now if you think in a very short term तो क्या होने वाला हैं ? और यह practical challenge हैं | Unless you are in power, you will not be able to implement some of the things that you need to, if you are thinking in an administrative fashion. Social work की तरह से अगर आप अपना काम करना चाहते हैं , तो इतने साल से तो कर ही रही हैं | मैं भी अपने limited ways से कर रहा हूँँ | लेकिन administration से करने का सोचेगे तो you are right. Unfortunately, that is the method we are stuck in right now.

Nilesh Oak:- लेकिन ऐसा भी हैं न मधु जी, की इसको समझ लो हमें बदलना हैं | हमारे जो democratic structure हैं उस पर मैं बात कर रहा हूँँ | तो, बदलना चाहिए उसके ऊपर आप और मैं 110% agreement हैं | In fact, आपमें और मेरे में disagreement नहीं हैं | मुझे atleast यह समझ में नहीं आ रहा है कि हम बदलने के लिए कहाँ से प्रारम्भ करें ? I feel stuck, you know कि like यह democracy निकालेगे | जैसे कि राम-राज्य में क्या democracy नहीं थी?
Democracy याने आज के समय की democracy नहीं थी लेकिन कोई भी जाके, वह धोबी भी जाके, जो हम story सुनते हैं, वह राम को बता सकता था what he was thinking, what was on his mind. That was there, उसके पहले भी रामायण में यह बात आती है, very interesting, आपको पता होगा लेकिन हमारे audience को मैं बता रहा हूँँ | भगवान् राम के बहुत पहले यानी कि 14000 साल के भी बहुत पहले, I think, सगर नाम के एक राजा थे उनके पुत्र असमन्ज कर के थे, उनका behavior अच्छा नहीं था, very odd behavior था | अभी हमें आज के समय में नाम लेने की जरुरत नहीं हैं | वह बहुत सारे नटखट बातें करते थे, not very happy activity. वह प्रजा के बच्चों को लेके सरयू के पानी में फेक देते थे | तो राजा के पास जा के प्रजा ने कहा as a representative, कि यह correct नहीं है | आप अपने बच्चे को fix कीजिए, नहीं तो उसको ostracize कर के यहाँ से निकाल दीजिए |

Nilesh Oak:- राजा ने असमन्ज को निकाल दिया | That is why we consider those were the good times. त्रेता युग की बात चल रही थी | You know because those things चल रही थी|
अभी तक हमने bad चीजोंं की वर्णन नहीं की, कलियुग में actually बुरी बातें क्या थी? मेरे से आप ज्यादा अच्छा बता सकते हैं , लेकिन मैं थोडा वर्णन देता हूँँ कि मार्कण्डेय ऋषि और युधिष्ठिर की जो वन-पर्व में जो बात होती है, उसमें बात आ रही हैं | महाभारत में बार-बार वर्णन आती हैं कि कलियुग में कैसा होगा?
जैसे कि genetic defects वाले वर्णन आते हैं | आजकल तो genetic defects हो रहे हैं , वह हमें पता ही चल रहा हैं , pollution के कारण, animals को रहा हैं| लेकिन पुराने जमाने में ऐसा नहीं कि बिलकुल ही नहीं होते होंगे, लेकिन उसका percentage कम होता होगा | जैसे हम जरासंध की कथा पढ़ते हैं, तो complications थे | उसके पहले भी हम complications सुनते हैं, genetic complications सुनते हैं | और महाभारत के समय में पता नहीं ऐसा क्या हुआ था द्वापर युग में |
जैसे British लोगों ने तो last 100 years में किसी को दत्तक लेने नहीं देते थे | आपको पता हैं न कि कोई हमारे राजा लोग थे और उनके British doctors होते थे उनके यहाँ | पता नहीं उनको, the way they (the doctors) used to make them sterile. आप consistently अगर history पढोगे last 100 years-200 years का तो आपको पता चलेगा कि राजा को बच्चा ही नहीं होता था| और लड़का नहीं होता था और बच्चा ही नहीं होता था| फिर उनको दत्तक लेने की इच्छा होती और वे British आके बोलते थे कि वह unacceptable हैं | Because, they wanted to acquire that kingdom also.
यह एक बात हुई, महाभारत में जब चर्चा आती हैं , बड़े आश्चर्य की बात हैं , लेकिन there were exceptions. In fact, तब जो exceptions थे, उनकी कथा हमें रामायण में मिलती हैं , महाभारत में भी मिलती हैं | रामायण में भी दशरथ को भी बहुत समय पुत्र नहीं हो रहा था| और महाभारत में आप तो देखो, कितने जो हैं वे test tube babies जैसे हैं | पुरे कौरव लोगों का जन्म in a way ऐसे हैं कि गान्धारी का गर्भ तो था लेकिन व्यासदेव जी ने उनको निकाल कर के 100 parts में distribute कर के रखा |
पान्डवों की कथा तो हमें पता हैं कुन्ती से | और ऐसे बहुत सारे लोग हैं, द्रोण का जन्म वैसे ही है , द्रोणी का जन्म वैसे ही है | द्रौपदी का जन्म वैसा है | दृष्ट्दुम का जन्म वैसा ही है | मुझे नहीं पता कि exactly what was happening, तो ऐसा नहीं कि तब नहीं हो रहा था | But, it is well accepted that very well sophisticated technology apparently existed then. लेकिन हमारे समय में problems तो हैं |
Madhu Kishwar:- अभी आप आ रहे थे Mahabharat as sheet anchor. एक तो आपने बताया कि birth defects. But nature will not be bountiful. इतना जो सहज सब कुछ bountifully मिल जाता हैं , nature भी dry up हो जाएगी | Which is what we are seeing now, कि कभी जो floods हैं , कभी क्या हैं ?
और दूसरा, परिवार के टूटने की जो सारी प्रक्रिया हैं , social chaos, परिवार का टूटना, cheating और दुष्कर्म will be the ones that will go triumphant. और, people will leave their own countries and seek refuge in other countries. यह भी आता हैं उसमें |
तो आप देखियह refugee crisis कब से चल रहा हैं हमारे यहाँ | इस century में तो, पर वह भी छोड़ो | हमारे यहाँ तो जो invasions हुए, अगर राजा तय कर रहा हैं तो failure of our Hindu rulers to preempt those brutal invasions, and the kind of invaders who came! उनमें तो कलियुग की भी परिभाषा से कही बाहर की बात हैं |
जो मान्यताए वह लेके आए | मुझे नहीं लगता कि जितनी भी आप dark से dark अगर आप predictions देखें कलियुग की, उससे भी विभत्स हमारे शासक बने | और मुझे लगता हैं की आज तक भी हमारी Hindu imagination से अभी भी बाहर हैं | यह किस सोच के हैं और कैसे हैं और कभी शायद हम स्वीकार ही नहीं करना चाहते की यह फर्क हो सकता हैं | तो अल्लाह-इश्वर तेरो नाम करते रहते हैं , DNA एक हैं करते रहते हैं , भाई-भाई करते रहते हैं | Anyways, let’s continue with your story. It’s very interesting.
Nilesh Oak:- आपने जो point कहाँ वह बहुत important हैं | उसके ऊपर हमारे थोड़ा हिन्दू धर्म के लोगों का challenge यह हैं कि यह भूल जाते हैं | इनको लगता हैं कि कृष्ण या ऐसा कोई अवतार आके कुछ करेंगे, हमें तो कुछ करना नहीं हैं , हम तो कुछ नहीं कर सकते, party में हम busy रह सकते हैं , हमें जो करना हैं latest smart phone घुमाना हैं , जो कुछ करना हैं वह कृष्ण आके करेंगे|
Now, यह तो हमारे जो ग्रन्थ हैं वह ना समझने वाली बात हैं | जैसे simple यह मुझे repeat करने की जरुरत भी नहीं हैं | हमारे सब देव-देवताओं के हाथों में अस्त्र-शस्त्र हैं | और जब महाभारत युद्ध हुआ तो सिर्फ कृष्ण और अर्जुन युद्ध नहीं कर रहे थे | 18 अक्शोहिनी उधर सैन्य था | भगवन राम के साथ भी पूरा वानर सैन्य था| यह हम क्यूँ भूल जाते हैं ? और भगवान् राम को भी ऐसा अवतार हैं , उनको भी ऐसा चुटकी बजा के युद्ध विजय नहीं मिला| उनको भी तो 13 दिन युद्ध करना पड़ा| महाभारत का भी युद्ध 18 दिन चला| कृष्ण होते हुए भी 18 दिन युद्ध चला| उसमें अभिमन्यु को भी sacrifice तो करना पड़ा| द्रौपदी को अपने पाच पुत्रों का sacrifice करना पड़ा | दृष्ट्दुम और शकुनी यहाँ आके भी चले गए| हमें तो price तो देनी ही पड़ेगी न|
और आज हमारी ऐसी situation हैं कि we are not asking for the prize of our life. We are asking for the prize of our Karma. हमारी बुद्धि, हमारे तन-मन-धन, उनका उपयोग करना चाहिए | कम से कम संयम करना चाहिए | जब तक नही होगा तब तक उसमें कलियुग के जो effects हैं वे हम निकाल नहीं सकते |
Mahabharat के जो sheet anchor है उसकी बात करते हैं | Because, मैं ने जो प्रारम्भमें कहाँ कि हमारे आज के social consciousness में कलियुग का जो प्रारम्भ हुआ वह 3000 BC के आस-पास हुआ ऐसा मानते हैं, यानी कि 5000 साल पहले हुआ ऐसा मानते हैं | यह एक बहुत ही erroneous belief होके बैठा है | Erroneous belief, उसका प्रारम्भ कहाँ से हुआ वह आज मैं आपको नहीं बताता हूँँ क्योंकि वह एक बहुत ही लम्बा subject बन जायेगा | लेकिन जो erroneous belief है , वह मैं बता रहा हूँँ कि 5000 साल पहले कलियुग का प्रारम्भ हुआ| यह erroneous belief का प्रारम्भजो हैं वह last 2000 साल में हुआ है, उसके पहले नहीं था | बिलकुल ही उसके पहले नहीं था | और आप उसके लिए कभी जीवन राव जी को बुला दीजिए, he is now working on a book right now| उन्होंने इतना अच्छा काम किया हैं , I don’t want to steal his thunder either.
Now, जो बात करना चाहता हूँँ, कि जो हम जो रोज़ पुराण में, महाभारत में, बात करते हैं , कृष्ण के साथ हम कलियुग का सम्बन्ध करते हैं, यह हमें मानना हैं | यह हमें मानना ही नहीं हैं तो बात ही छोड़ो | किसी को पुराण की बात नहीं माननी है , किसी को महाभारत की बात नहीं माननी है , तो हमारा कोई उनके ऊपर pressure नहीं हैं कि वे लोग यह बात मान लें |
लेकिन जो महाभारत की बात मानते हैं वे जानते हैं कि पुराण में जो बात होती हैं वह महाभारत की ही बात होती हैं और कलियुग का सम्बन्ध आता हैं | तो उनको विज्ञान बुद्धि की बात मानते हैं, शास्त्र को मानते हैं , न्याय दर्शन को मानते हैं , Logic जिसको हम कहते हैं, उसको मानते हैं | वह तर्क्शास्त्र को मानते हैं , दृष्टान्त सिद्धांत को मानते हैं , तो उनको यह मानना ही पड़ेगा कि जो महाभारत में कलियुग का जो प्रारम्भ हुआ, वह 18th day, जो महाभारत युद्ध का last day था, 18th day of the war, पुष्य नक्षत्र उसी दिन हुआ है | और मैं ने जो संशोधन किया हैं वह भी मानना पड़ेगा उनको | See, यह अलग बात हो गई कि वह जो दिन हैं, वह आता हैं 2nd November 5561 BC, जो 18TH day हैं | मैं उसमें यह संक्षिप्त में कहूँँगा कि महाभारत में भी वह दूसरा एक subject आता हैं कि महाभारत में भी लोगों ने 100 different references निकाले हैं | 400 CE से लेके 7300 BC तक 130 different लोगों ने 130 different dates का claim किया हैं कि महाभारत उनके opinion से यहाँ हुआ, उनके opinion से वहाँ हुआ |
इन सब लोगों में से 99% लोग यह नहीं बोलते कि महाभारत क्या कहती हैं ? वह कहाँ से तो एक शिलालेख निकालेंगे, कहाँ से तो एक-आधा पुराण उठाएंगे; उनके गुरु ने क्या कहाँ उसपे जाएंगे | महाभारत क्या कहती हैं उसपे जाते नहीं | महाभारत क्या कहती हैं आप देखोगे तो यह date से और कोई date आता नहीं | और इसलिए मैं ने तो लोगों के लिए open challenge दे रखा हैं; आपने देखे होंगे, लोगों के साथ debate वगैरह भी देखे होंगे | मैं सबको कहता हूँँ, do not debate in a bad sense. हमारी चर्चा से ही, हमारी वैज्ञानिक चर्चा से ही और न्याय दर्शन का उपयोग कर के ही हम उसमें एक मत पे आ सकते हैं | तो वह date आता हैं 2 November 5561 BCE. यानी कि according to that Mahabharata tradition, जिसकी हम बात करते हैं, because आप कलियुग की बात करोगे तो कृष्ण का नाम आ जाता हैं, महाभारत का सम्बन्ध आ जाता हैं | तो वही समय आयेगा?
Madhu Kishwar:- पर सवाल जो मेंरा original था कि कैसे और किस दृष्टि से देखा? कैसे यह परिकल्पना भी कोई कर सकता हैं हजारों साल पहले कि यह होने वाला हैं, यह विकृतियाँ आयेगी| इस किसम के दुश्त्कर्म होंगे, जो उस वक़्त में तो नहीं थे |
Nilesh Oak:- Very Good question, और उसका मैं उत्तर आपको दृष्टान्त का उपयोग कर के देने वाला हूँँ | Direct उत्तर तो मेरे पास भी नहीं हैं कि वह कैसे predict कर सके उसको?
मैं आपको एक दृष्टान्त देता हूँँ कि समझ लो हमारे घर में बैठें हैं लोग और छोटे बच्चे घर में ही cricket खेल रहे हैं | या marble के साथ ही खेल रहे हैं या एक दुसरे के साथ fighting कर रहे हैं, ऐसा कुछ चल रहा हैं | और हमारे जो दीवारे रहती हैं उनमें जो windows हैं , उसमें glass हैं | तो बच्चे खेलते हैं तो उनके दिमाग में कुछ नहीं आयेगा क्योंकि वह बहुत छोटे बच्चे हैं | लेकिन जो बड़े लोग हैं वे बोलेंगे कि “Stop playing with that marble there, stop playing with that ball there, नहीं तो window break हो जाएगी |” बच्चे फिर बोलते हैं कि हम तो आधे घंटे से खेल रहे हैं अभी तक कुछ break नहीं हुआ | But, जो बड़ा आदमी हैं वह बोलता हैं “Stop, window break होगा |” और वह तो होता ही हैं | अगर आप पाँच मिनट उनको और खेलने दें तो जो window हैं , toy हैं , या कोई घड़ी, वह तो break होगी ही होगी | यानी, जो बड़ा आदमी हैं उसने यह कैसे predict किया?
मैं बहुत simple दृष्टांत दे रहा हूँँ, because that बड़ा आदमी has lot more background knowledge जिसको हम व्याप्ति ज्ञान बोलते हैं | उसको पीछे का, आगे-पीछे का ज्ञान हैं | महाभारत में एक वर्णन आता है : जब युधिष्ठिर मार्कण्डेय ऋषि को मिलते हैं और वासुदेव भी मिलते हैं , वासुदेव जी युधिष्ठिर को यह कहते हैं कि ये जो मार्कण्डेय ऋषि हैं वे ऋषि हैं , वे कोई ordinary ऋषि नहीं हैं | See that is the beauty of our tradition. वासुदेव जी तो खुद ही महान हैं , लेकिन वह युधिष्ठिर को कहते हैं कि मार्कण्डेय ऋषि कोई ordinary ऋषि नहीं हैं | इन्होने बहुत सारे युग देखे हैं | और फिर उसका वर्णन आता हैं कि इन्होंने बाल-मुकुंद देखा, पुराने कल्प की बात करते हैं, मार्कण्डेय ऋषि| अभी वह कैसे किया मैं भी उसका उत्तर नहीं दे सकता|
तो मार्कण्डेय ऋषि का आप वर्णन जो कर रहे हैं वह बार-बार repeat हो रहा है | लेकिन यह मार्कण्डेय ऋषि का किया हुआ वर्णन है, जो आप थोडा सा बता रहे थे कलियुग का वर्णन | मार्कण्डेय ऋषि इसलिए बता रहे हैं because he has seen it before, or he has heard about it before, or he has experienced it before. Because, यह युग भी cycle वाली बात हैं तो| Similarly जो old आदमी घर में बच्चों को बोलते हैं कि खेलें मत नहीं तो window break हो जाएगी, why is he saying it? Because the old person has seen window breaking when kids are playing many times.
Madhu Kishwar:- I think this makes sense. हमारी जो इतिहास की sense हैं वह linear नहीं हैं | Abrahamics की जैसे linear हैं , हमारी cyclical हैं | तो, इसलिए पहले जा चुके हैं , इसलिए एहसास हैं कि ऐसा फिर से आने वाला हैं | फिर तो inevitability theory of history हो गई | Its like a Marxist framework because capitalism के बाद socialism आना हैं , feudalism के बाद capitalism का आना ही था वगैरह-वगैरह | वे linear में कर रहे हैं , हम cyclical में कर रहे हैं | एक मायेने में, जो हमारे सामने हैं, फिर तो आना ही हैं |

Madhu Kishwar:- Desert lands, land of scarcity. So loot is in the DNA. उसके बगैर इनका कुछ बनना ही नहीं था |

One more point, while western view is linear. हम कह रहे हैं कि युग आएंगे, लेकिन उसमें एक फर्क हैं | हम ऐसा नहीं कह रहे | जो आप बोल रहे थे कि फिर free will का कहाँ सवाल रहा, यह तो पूरा determined हैं | वह नहीं हैं | उसके ऊपर मैं आना चाहता हूँँ |
जो Indian system का cyclical concept हैं न, वह exactly cyclical नहीं हैं | In fact, उसका journey ऐसा है कि हमारे India से यह cyclical concept, युग का concept itself is by nature cyclical. This concept went in the west a long time ago. यह West में गया, यह 3rd century की बात है, जब St. Augustine ने Christianity का very fanatic model बनाया, जो Council of Nicaea दिया | तो जो St. Augustine ने क्या किया, he misunderstood our cyclical model. यहाँ पे थोड़ा digression हो रहा है, लेकिन यह बहुत महत्वपूर्ण है हमारे लोगों को समझने के लिए | तो उन्होंने exactly cyclical imagine किया |
इसका मतलब उन्होंने क्या दिया कि फिर जब वह cycle आयेगा तो फिर वह सतयुग, द्वापर युग, त्रेता युग और कलियुग आयेगा | उन्होंने वह द्वापर युग वगैरह शब्द use नहीं किये | Because, उतने शब्द उधर पहुंचे ही नहीं | जो silk route था उससे उतने शब्द उधर तक पहुंचे ही नहीं | लेकिन चार युग होता हैं यह बात वहाँ तक गया और वह cyclical होता है | तो वह information silk route से ही India में return आ गई और हमारे Indians ने भी वह wrongly imbibe कर ली | इसलिए हम भी यह सोचते हैं कि, हमारे हिन्दू लोग भी बहुत सारे ऐसे सोचते हैं कि, फिर जब त्रेता युग आयेगा तो फिर राम आयेगा, रावण आयेगा फिर सीता को चुरा के ले जायेगा | यह थोडी बच्चों वाली बात हो गई |
लेकिन, the point is that, West में हमारा cyclical theory was misunderstood. It got imported back through the silk route and now we have imbibed it like that. हमारी वह theory नहीं है | हमारा cyclical हैं , लेकिन it is para-cyclical. जैसे मेरे पास Map होता तो मैं अभी दिखा देता | जैसे concentric circles होते हैं न ? Multiple sizes के bangles एक दुसरे के अंदर डालो तो concentric circles आपको मिलेंगे | एक circle जब दुसरे circle को मिलता it just exactly repeats – यह हो गई exactly cyclical theory | लेकिन para-cyclical ऐसी हैं कि हमारे जो मछर छाप अगरबत्ती होती हैं न वह ऐसे घुमती हैं | वह दूर से देखे तो बहुत सारे circle दिखेंगे | लेकिन वह exact concentric circle नहीं हैं | That is the kind of cyclicity that is understood in हमारे धर्म-ग्रन्थ|
वहाँ फिर राम नहीं आएंगे, कोई और अवतार होंगे | वह ऐसे सोचने की जरुरत नहीं हैं | लेकिन देखो श्रद्धा में ऐसा किसी को believe करना हैं तो वह कर सकते हैं | हम किसी को stop नहीं कर सकते |
Madhu Kishwar:- Coming back to the cyclical versus the linear, मुझे लगता है कि बुनियादी कारण यह भी हैं | एक तो हमारे ऋषियों की हजारों साल पहले की cosmic understanding हैं | And, जो cycles, यह भी कितनी accuracy से कि sun को कितना समय लगता हैं , moon को कितना समय लगता हैं , और पृथ्वी को कितना समय लगता हैं, मतलब हर चीज़ का बारीकी से वर्णन हो | हमारे पंचांग में वह बहुत अच्छे से दिया है | Now, the other thing is that, कि यह जो आत्मा और परमात्मा का एकात्म होना, कोई फर्क नहीं हैं और मृत्यु का मतलब यह नहीं हैं कि आप गए, और ऊपर जा रहे हैं हूँँरो से मिलने, या वह जो Christian God हैं , उससे reward hell या heaven में पहुँचने के लिए | मृत्यु के बाद that energy keeps coming back. You also, as आत्मा will come back in one form or the other. और जरुरी नहीं हैं कि मनुष्य के form में आओ | किसी भी रूप में आ सकते हो | तो वह unity of all living beings sentient and non-sentient. तो, उसमें भी cyclical हैं | तो शायद यह भी कारण हैं कि जहाँ human life is Linear, Birth, Death gone ऊपर – ऊपर जा के पता नहीं क्या होना हैं | दूसरा, और शायद यह भी एक कारण होगा कि आप इतने scarcity torn region से हैं, desert region से हैं | तो बाहर जाना पड़ा इनको लुटने-खसुटने| तो they could not really develop. अभी हुआ हैं develop oil की वजह से| उससे पहले तो कुछ भी नहीं था | तो इसलिए, जो linear history में यह ‘ हम तो रहते थे इतने बुरे तरह से, फिर हमने लुट के Industrial revolution बनाई; फिर हम अभी इसके बाद अगला stage लाने वाले हैं |’ Because, scarcity से जैसे ही इनके पास आया धन-सम्पदा वह भी लुटा हुआ, then you think that you are making progress. For you that is progress but for us in fact that whole period is one of loot and plunder. We don’t see progress in that manner.
Nilesh Oak:- Correct. और उसके साथ जो आप बात कह रहे थे, इसलिए मैं ने कहा न, एक social structure हैं और एक personal structure हैं | Individual का अनुभव, और आपने यह जरुर अनुभव किया होगा, कि बाहर से सब अच्छा चल रहा हैं लेकिन मेरे life में अगर कुछ कठिन प्रसंग हैं तो मुझे फर्क नहीं पड़ता के बाहर कितना अच्छा चल रहा हैं | मेरे लिए तो कलियुग ही है |
और उसके वर्णन हैं हमारे पास में | For example, चैतन्य महाप्रभु का ऐसा वर्णन हैं जब वे कृष्ण-भक्त थे, उनको जब कृष्ण के साथ विरह महसूस होता था so वे बोलते थे कि एक क्षण उनका विरह, एक युग जैसा महसूस होता था | अभी हम कहेंगे कि वे उनके मन की बात हैं , लेकिन वे मन की बात आपके लिए reality हैं |
So, let me add that point कि आपने जो कहा था कि फिर हमारे हाथ में तो कुछ हैं ही नहीं | तो सिर्फ देखते रहो, show चल रहा हैं, उसको देखते रहो | भगवद गीता में एक श्लोक आता हैं :
अधिष्ठानं तथा कर्ता करणं च पृथग्विधम् |
विविधाश्च पृथक्चेष्टा दैवं चैवात्र पञ्चमम् ||
हम जो कर्म करते हैं, उस कर्म का effect होता है | वह किस कारण होता है ? यह बात कृष्ण कहते हैं | अधिष्ठानं – वे कहते हैं कि हमारा कोई goal रहता हैं , किसी को loot करना हैं, किसी को दान करना हैं |
You know, ‘यथा शक्ति संविभाग इति दान’ ऐसा शंकराचार्यजी कहते हैं | Now what he says is, हम जब दान देते हैं, कोई उपकार नहीं कर रहें हैं ।हमारा जो होता है, यह संविभाग – equitable distribution हम कर रहें हैं | लेकिन जो लूटते हैं उनका तो mentality अलग है | आपने जैसा कहाँ वह कलियुग के भी आगे जाता है | वह हमारे ऋषियों ने भी सोचा नही होगा कि लोग इतना नीचे चले जाएंगे |
आपका खुद का ability, उसका intelligence, उसका ability, उसका lack of ability, उसका फर्क करता हैं जैसे आपने कहा | और उसके हाथ में क्या अस्त्र-शस्त्र हैं , समझ लो उसके हाथ में sword हैं या भाला हैं तो injury होगा, लेकिन वह कम होगा | उसके पास nuclear weapon हैं तो उसका injury ज्यादा होगा, biological weapon हैं तो उसका injury ज्यादा होगा | ये leftist लोग अलग-अलग ढंग से करते हैं , एक ही मार्ग नहीं अपनाते वो | यह भी करेंगे, वह भी करेंगे, marketing भी करेंगे, सब करेंगे वे ; Nobel prize भी देंगे किसी को वह करने के लिए | जो आपकी last बात हैं कि हमारे हाथ में कुछ हैं क्या? जो दैव, हमारे हाथ में न होने की बात हैं वह 20 % हैं | 80 % तो actually हमारे हाथ में हैं | जो काम प्रयत्न से 80 % हम बदल ला सकते हैं , वह सब होने के बाद भी 20 % हमारे हाथ में नहीं हैं | तब भक्ति picture में आ जाती हैं | तब भक्ति का मार्ग यह हैं की वह 20 % भक्ति का महत्व हैं | सब करने के बाद भी हम बोलते हैं की now परमेंश्वर मुझे शक्ति दे |
तो आज जो हमारी स्तिथि हैं , या किसी देश की स्तिथि, या किसी corporate की स्तिथि हैं in a way who is responsible for it ? आपने जैसे कहा कि हमारा cycle चलते रहता हैं , ऊपर जा रहे हैं, निचे आ रहे हैं | Every thing we are doing today, free will or destiny is determined by our past actions and what we do in the present.

यह मैं इसलिए यह दृष्टान्त कह रहा हूँँ, क्यूंकि आप यह प्रश्न पूछ रहे हैं , यह सही हैं कि वह आपके भी प्रश्न हैं | लेकिन आपने तो आपका कर्म योग में, मानुषी में, लगा दिया हैं | आप सोच के देखिये जब आप busy रहते हैं , जैसे जब आप मानुषी का काम कर रहे होते हैं , अभी आप यह प्रश्न पूछ रहे हैं , लेकिन मुझे लगता हैं यह आपका प्रश्न नहीं हैं | On behalf of other people भी आप पूछ रहे हैं | Because, वह नामदेव कहते थे, जब मैं कीर्तन में बैठता हूँँ तो मुझे नीद क्यूँ आती हैं ?
लेकिन, in reality नामदेव को नीद नहीं आ रही हैं , क्योंकि नामदेव तो कीर्तन कर रहे हैं | लोगों को नीद आ रही हैं उनको सुनने वालो को | नामदेव उनको नहीं बोलते, बेटे तू क्यूँ सो रहा हैं ? वे बोलते हैं कि मुझे कीर्तन में क्यूँ नीद आती हैं ?
Similarly, you are asking this. यह हमारे जो seers हैं, यह उनकी भाषा हैं | जैसा पतंजलि कहते हैं कि आपको तो दुनिया में चार तरह के लोग मिलेंगे, ऐसा भगवान् भी कहते हैं : एक इश्वर हैं , उसके शिष्य हैं , फिर एक मंद बुद्धि के लोग, और हमारे द्वेष करने वाले लोग | And he gives the answer प्रेम, मैत्री, कृपो, अपेक्षा | किसी के साथ प्रेम करो, किसी के साथ friendship करो, किसी के साथ करुणा दिखाओ – बाल बुद्धि या मंद बुद्धि हैं, उसके साथ आप क्या करोगे? उसको करुणा दिखाओगे | और जो दुष्ट हैं, जो आपके प्रति द्वेष दिखा रहा हैं , उसकी अपेक्षा करो | Show indifference to that person. आपका काम करते रहो | भगवान् पतंजलि भी यही कहते हैं |
See movie में भी hero कितना बड़ा हैं, वह कैसे decide होता हैं ? वह इसपे निर्भर करता हैं कि villain कितना bad हैं | तो हमें hero बन्ने के लिए इतना अच्छा निर्माण हुआ हैं , बहुत बड़े-बड़े villain हुए हैं | Isms में villains हैं , individuals में villains हैं |
Madhu Kishwar:- बहुत सही कहा आपने और मुझे तो अब समझ आ रहा हैं यह जो युगों के बारे में, कि कलियुग कब आयेगा, वह आयेगा भी या नहीं, इसका बुनियादी confusion जो मेंरे दिमाग में भी था और शायद its very common, जो मेरा confusion था, वह क्योंकि हम इस सोच से बाहर नहीं निकले थे कि एक सतयुग था, एक द्वपार, एक त्रेता और फिर अब वगैरह-वगैरह | But, if it’s a cycle then there have been Kaliyugs before, Dwapars before, यह चलता रहा हैं cycle. और अगर यह सही हैं फिर तो ज़ाहिर हैं उसकी परिकल्पना भी संभव थी | क्योंकि वह जा चूका हैं | हमारे DNA में भी उसके अवशेष होंगे वह कैसा रहा होगा, जो एक memory plant हो जाती हैं | या जो भी तरीके रहे होंगे, हमारे ऋषियों-मुनियो के, to understand their relationship to their past and to the future. यह तो गुत्थी आज थोड़ी सी तो सुलझती दिख रही हैं , and I see how mechanical we had made our notion. तो तुरंत आना ही हैं , एक cycle हैं , और एक बार का cycle नहीं हैं |
I think यह जो 2000 BC से जो शुरू किया न हमने उसने हमारी imagination को stunt कर दिया| और हमको महाभारत को भी यह Jesus Christ के काल से मापना पड़ता हैं कि उससे पहले कितनी थी? और उसके बाद कितनी थी? और क्योंकि इन मुर्ख लोगों की इतिहास, इनको लगता हैं कि तभी से शुरू हुयी | और इन्होने वह सारा थोप दिया, और यह एक बड़ा कारण हो सकता हैं हिन्दू धर्म और civilization के प्रति द्वेष का| उनको इतनी inferiority और confusion होती होगी की हम केवल 2000 साल की बात कर रहे हैं , या 2500-3000 और यहाँ एक पूरा world view हैं जो millions of years की समझ रखता हैं , उसका एहसास रखता हैं | और उस अनुसार जीवन पद्धति उसने create की हैं .

एक गोरा आदमी ने किया उधर जाके लोग यह comment दे रहे हैं | तो एक अच्छी बात हैं कि उसके कारण वह मेंरा book पढ़ रहे हैं | I am still thankful to him. उनको भी मेरे book का notice करना पड़ा, एक गोरा आदमी को, वह important हैं | The point is कि वह सोच ही नहीं सकते, 2,000-4,000 साल के पहले वह सोच ही नहीं सकते | Because, even Newton, Kepler के समय में भी ऐसा लोगों का मानना था कि यह पूरी पृथ्वी नहीं | यह विश्व ही 4000 BC में उसका प्रारम्भहुआ |
अभी तक तो मैं ने 1950s तक के books मैं ने देखे हैं कि जहाँ वह सोच रहे हैं 4004 BC में ही विश्व का प्रारम्भहुआ | तो यह एक problem हैं | Now, negative एक बात यह हो रही हैं जो मैं कहना चाहता हूँँ | हमारे जो pro-India sounding संशोधक हैं, उनको भी इतना brainwashing हुआ हैं last 150 years में | उनको भी आप 10,000 साल बोल दो, 15,000 साल बोल दो, 20,000 या 25,000 साल बोल दो, तो वे अपने seats में कांपने लगते हैं | लेकिन जो साक्ष्य हैं वह साक्ष्य तो हमें उधर लेके जा रही हैं |

But, imagine how they trace their descent.

जो भारतीय ऋषि लोगों ने पहले से सोचा हैं , यह दशावतार क्या चीज़ हैं ? लेकिन जो Darwin ने किया वह brilliant work हैं | लेकिन वह जो evolution था, it has gone way ahead. जैसे हमारे Genetics का जो invention हुआ, या discovery हुई, उससे बहुत आगे हैं | हम बात कर सकते हैं उसका, मैंमहाभारत की तरफ आपको ले जाऊंगा | महाभारत में उसका वर्णन आता हैं , गुण-विधि का जो वशिष्ट ऋषि का वर्णन आता हैं | My point is that Darwinian theory of evolution matches with our theory. But, not identical. Not 1 is to 1, because Darwin material level पे सोच रहे थे | हमारे यहाँ evolution of शारीर तो हैं ही, लेकिन evolution of consciousness की भी बात हैं | इसलिए जो हम गायत्री मन्त्र का जप करते हैं
‘ॐ भूर्भुवः स्वः तत्सवितुर्वरेण्य भर्गो देवस्य धीमहि धियो यो नः प्रचोदयात्।’
तो आपने ऊपर की सिर्फ बात की, ऊपर भी 7 लोग हैं और निचे भी 7 लोग हैं | और यह ऊपर-निचे यह भी एक relative भाषा हैं | Actually, ऊपर means necessarily ऐसे ऊपर नहीं हैं | जैसे आप कहते हैं कि हम book पढ़ रहे हैं कोई, तो कोई अच्छा book पढ़ रहे हैं | तो मैं ने आपसे पूछा कि महाभारत पढ़ रहे हैं आप? कहाँ तक पढ़ा आपने? You might say that you are on the भीष्म पर्व | तो आप भीष्म पर्व पे हैं , इसका मतलब यह हैं कि आप भीष्म-पर्व पे हैं | It’s a psychological way of saying it, it’s a consciousness level of saying it. Similarly, जब हम higher planets और lower planets की बात करते हैं | जो different level of planetary system :- जो सत्य लोक, इंद्र लोक, ब्रह्म लोक ऐसी जो बात करते हैं | वह Physical places का जो हम सोचते हैं वह correct हैं , लेकिन consciousness की भी बात हैं उसमें |
In fact, you can just sit on your chair and in principle you can have an experience of the स्वर्ग लोक or a ब्रम्ह लोक, or a सत्य लोक | वही तो ऋषि-मुनि करते थे | We have lost that ability now.
एक last comment और करूँगा कि कृति करना क्यूँ जरुरी हैं ? ऐतरेय ब्राह्मण, जो ऋग्वेद के साथ connected ग्रन्थ हैं, उसमे एक और ढंग की व्याख्या की हैं इन चारो युग की : आप सोते हो तो कलियुग में हैं , आप नीद से बाहर आ जाते हो तो द्वापर युग में आ जाते हो, आप उठ के खड़े हो जाते हो तो आप त्रेता युग में आ गए और चलने लगते हो, यानी कि कृति करने लगते हो तो सतयुग में आ गए | सतयुग में रहिये – चरयवेती, चरयवेती, चरयवेती : कर्म करते रहो, कर्म करते रहो, कर्म करते रहो |
Madhu Kishwar:- That’s a very-very uplifting conclusion. कर्म करते रहो, कर्म करते रहो पर यह मत सोचो सत्यमेव जयते just sitting back. सत्य के लिए लड़ना, उसके लिए धर्म युद्ध करना तभी सत्य की विजय होती हैं , तमस से नहीं होती | हम बहुत तामसिक हो गए |

If हमने वह chronology में लाया तो अभी का जो प्रश्न हैं कि त्रेता युग तो भाई 17 lakhs पहले का problem आ जायेगा | त्रेता युग can be 17 lakh years ago in a theoretical framework. लेकिन जो chronological, हमारे इतिहास, राम भगवान् कब हो गए, कृष्ण भगवान् कब हो गए, परशुराम भगवान् कब हो गए, उसके लिए हम कलियुग की व्याख्यायें ला नहीं सकते | We are here talking of thousands of years, maybe hundred thousand of years. एक लाख साल की बात कर सकते हैं पूरा humanity के लिए | हम पीछे जा सकते हैं | लेकिन वह 17 Lakh years का नहीं चलेगा |
एक confusion हैं , जैसा मैं ने कहा था मधु जी की एक व्याख्या यहाँ से ले रहे हो, दूसरी व्याख्या यहाँ से ले रहे हो, तीसरी व्याख्या यहाँ से ले रहे हो | ऐसा नहीं चलेगा; यह शास्त्र सगत नहीं हैं , यह शास्त्र सम्मत नहीं हैं , यह न्याय दर्शन सम्मत नहीं हैं , यह तर्क शास्त्र से सम्मत नहीं हैं |
